What Is FireHousePal?

FireHousePal is a crew app built specifically for firehouse shifts. Meals are one of its deepest workflows, but the product also connects station activity, scheduling, training, fitness, Fire Service Intel, takeout coordination, and other useful shift context. The goal is to reduce the number of separate threads, notes, and one-off tools the crew has to piece together.

The Core FireHousePal Workflow

1. Plan: Set the meal date, serving time, crew, and expected headcount.
2. Choose: Browse the Cookbook, use a saved recipe, import a URL, generate an idea, or start a crew vote.
3. Call the crew: Send a Meal Call and collect responses before the grocery run.
4. Shop: Scale the recipe, account for pantry stock, and organize the grocery list.
5. Cook: Open the same planned recipe in Cook Mode without losing the meal context.
6. Close the loop: Record the cost, feedback, and favorite meals for future shifts.

Why Firehouse Meal Planning Is Different

A firehouse meal may need to feed a rotating crew, account for larger appetites, survive an interrupted cook, and work with whatever is already in the station pantry. The cook may also be trying to collect responses, estimate cost per person, and get the meal ready around training, inspections, and calls.

FireHousePal keeps those details attached to one meal rather than making the user rebuild the same plan in a recipe app, a group message, a grocery app, and a separate cost note.

What Happens After the Recipe Is Selected?

The selected recipe becomes part of the planned meal. The crew can respond to the Meal Call, the grocery list can scale to the confirmed group, and the cook can move into the instructions without searching for the recipe again. That continuity is the main product—not the individual recipe card.

Built for Crews, Not Only the Cook

One person may initiate the meal, but the plan belongs to the crew. Responses, headcount, grocery work, pantry information, meal history, and favorites can stay connected to the station instead of living only on one firefighter's phone.

Beyond the Kitchen

FireHousePal also connects the other parts of shift life that benefit from the same context. The Firehouse crew coordination area brings together station activity and priorities; the shift schedule provides date and crew context; and Training keeps drill ideas separate from official scheduled evolutions.

Firefighters can also use Fitness for personal workouts and progress, browse Fire Service Intel for useful current information, run a shared takeout order when the crew is not cooking, and close the meal loop with meal cost tracking.
